چکیده
Barley powdery mildew (BPM) is caused by the pathogen Blumeria hordei (Bh) and can lead to severe yield loss. Plant pathologists are looking for new sources of resistance BPM. accessions, including wild subspecies Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum (Hvs), stored in many gene banks often a valuable source economically important characteristics. The barley Hvs could be aim presented investigation was detect BPM 81 accessions collected Jordan (46), Lebanon (24), Libya (11). European differential isolates were used, resistant single plant lines selected use from fifteen Libya. These tested presence specific genes using set Bh isolates. Hypotheses about made comparing reaction spectra with those lines. After an analysis obtained results, it concluded that all 31 had not represented Bh. Twenty-six originated showed reactions used. will further as effective used prebreeding programs.

Geography of Genetic Structure in Barley Wild Relative Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum in Jordan
Informed collecting, conservation, monitoring and utilization of genetic diversity requires knowledge of the distribution and structure of the variation occurring in a species. Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum (K. Koch) Thell., a primary wild relative of barley, is an important source of genetic diversity for barley improvement and co-occurs with the domesticate within the center of origin. We...
متن کاملEvolutionary History of Wild Barley (Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum) Analyzed Using Multilocus Sequence Data and Paleodistribution Modeling
Studies of Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum, the wild progenitor of cultivated barley, have mostly relied on materials collected decades ago and maintained since then ex situ in germplasm repositories. We analyzed spatial genetic variation in wild barley populations collected rather recently, exploring sequence variations at seven single-copy nuclear loci, and inferred the relationships among ...
متن کاملDrought adaptations in wild barley (Hordeum spontaneum) grown in Iran
Wild barley contains a wide genetic diversity and therefore is adaptable to all kinds of harsh environments. The aim of this research was to determine the extent of drought stress adaptation within Hordeum spontaneum L. genotypes from different climates of Iran. From the primary population of 193 genotypes, a core set consisting of 18 genotypes, were selected based on the highest squared Euclid...
متن کاملGenome-Wide Association Mapping of Stem Rust Resistance in Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum
Stem rust was one of the most devastating diseases of barley in North America. Through the deployment of cultivars with the resistance gene Rpg1, losses to stem rust have been minimal over the past 70 yr. However, there exist both domestic (QCCJB) and foreign (TTKSK aka isolate Ug99) pathotypes with virulence for this important gene. To identify new sources of stem rust resistance for barley, w...
متن کاملThe resistance to leaf rust and powdery mildew of recombinant lines of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) derived from H. vulgare · H. bulbosum crosses
A set of 23 recombinant lines (RLs) of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) derived from H. vulgare · H. bulbosum L. crosses was inoculated with barley leaf rust (Puccinia hordei) and powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei) at the seedling stage to identify their levels and mechanisms of resistance. Eight RLs were studied further in glasshouse and field tests. All three barley parents ( Emir , G...
